Changes coming to the Real Estate Industry in South America

I have been commenting for two or three years now that current informality in the Real Estate Industry will change here as large international franchises arrive. This is starting to happen now; first Remax from the United States and more recently with the arrival of the successful franchise, Harcourts from Australasia. The changes that these operators will bring will be good for the industry and in particular residential vendors selling medium value properties. Having worked alongside Christies and Cushman Wakefield for most of my real estate career, I know that these structural changes will not be as fast to catch on in the rural market, but they will happen.  Gateway is now becoming well established in Argentina and Uruguay but we are seeking to expand our expertise into Brazil and Chile, in particular, commercial farm sales.
